Ubuntu "clássico" no Natty

Pude observar com o decorrer das atualizações do Beta1 que, na tela de logon do Ubuntu, é possível escolher entre o padrão (que a princípio será o Unity) e o "Ubuntu clássico", algo como aparece neste print.

Mais uma vez eu afirmo: a minha experiência com o Unity tem sido ótima, é um sistema intuitivo e isso agiliza muito na hora de produzir, é agradável e mantém as mesmas funcionalidades das versões anteriores do Ubuntu.

Vamos aguardar as cenas dos próximos capítulos :-)

Vídeo - Ubuntu 11.04

Resulvi upar um vídeo que fiz gravando a imagem do meu desktop rodando o Ubuntu 11.04.
O som desincronizou no final, mas dá para ver as features.
Há boatos que o Ubuntu 11.04 não virá com o Unity como o padrão... mas se não vier, eu altero, pois adorei o Unity... :-)

There are rumors that Ubuntu 11.04 will not come with Unity as the default ... anyway, I'll change to Unity because I love Unity ... :-)

Instalando o Google Earth no Ubuntu 11.04 Beta

Como muitos já perceberam, não é possível fazer a instalação do Google Earth no Ubuntu 11.04 Beta pelas vias "normais" (ou seja, baixar de earth.google.com e rodar o *.deb). Aliás muita coisa vai mudar no que diz respeito à instalação de softwares nesta versão do Ubuntu...
Enfim, como curto muito esse programa, encontrei uma maneira de instalá-lo. Abra um terminal e digite o que segue, na ordem:

sudo apt-get install googleearth-package lsb-core
sudo make-googleearth-package --force
sudo dpkg -i *.deb
sudo apt-get install -f

As many have noted, it is not possible to install Google Earth on Ubuntu 11.04 Beta by "normal ways" (I mean: download from earth.google.com and run the *. deb). In fact a lot will change with regard to the installation of software on this version of Ubuntu ...
Anyway, I love this software, and I found a way to install it. Open a terminal and type the following:
sudo apt-get install googleearth-package lsb-core
sudo make-googleearth-package - force
sudo dpkg-i *. deb
sudo apt-get install-f

De uns tempos para cá eu obserservei, nas estatísticas do blog, muitos acessos provenientes de países de língua inglesa. Creio que alguns usuários procuram fontes de pesquisa para os assuntos que estamos divulgando (redes wireless, jogos, Wine, testes em geral, atualizações das distros Ubuntu, etc).

Enfim, resumindo, cada um dos próximos posts terá uma "english version" para ajudar os usuários que porventura procurem assuntos de seu interesse neste blog.

Ubuntu 11.04 beta sem som

Não preciso nem dizer que instalei o BETA do Ubuntu 11.04 no meu DELL 110L. O resultado é realmente muito impressionante. Mas primeiro quero citar um bug que encontrei (o que é muito normal, por se tratar de um beta): o Ubuntu estava sem som nenhum. Tomei dois procedimentos para resolver o problema. O primeiro foi baixar todas as atualizações que havia disponíveis. Não sei qual dos dois procedimentos efetivamente resolveu o problema, mas enfim, o som normalizou. ... Minhas primeiras impressões quanto ao Ubuntu 11.04 não poderiam ser melhores, mas aos usuários mais técnicos (eu quis dizer "mais conservadores?"), já aviso: esta versão inaugura uma nova experiência em usabilidade e interatividade entre o usuário e o desktop. Sim, eu não disse entre o usuário e o seu sistema Linux, eu disse "entre o usuário e o seu desktop". Os menus "à la Macintosh" somados à novíssima barra de pesquisa (que se abre ao clicar no ícone do Ubuntu no canto superior esquerdo da tela), e à impressionante barra lateral, realmente mudarão a forma como utilizávamos um sistema operacional. Aguardemos as cenas dos próximos capítulos... serão muito interessantes :-)

Needless to say I installed the BETA of Ubuntu 11.04 on my DELL 110L. The result is really very impressive. But first let me mention that I found a bug (which is very normal, because it is a beta): Ubuntu was no sound at all. I took two procedures to resolve the problem. The first was to download all the updates that were available. I do not know which of the two procedures effectively solved the problem, but finally, the sound normal. ... My first impressions about the Ubuntu 11.04 could not be better, but more technical users (did I mean "more conservative?"), a warning: this opens a new experience in usability and interactivity between the user and the desktop. Yes, I did not said "between you and your Linux system", I said "between you and your desktop. "Menus à la Macintosh" added the brand new search bar (which opens when you click on the icon of Ubuntu on the top left of the screen), and impressive sidebar, really change the way we used an operating system. Scenes await the next chapters ... will be very interesting :-)

PS.: I write this post on Ubuntu beta installed on the notebook.
